Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Nora ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada.

2. Description of Service

Nora is a cloud-based business management platform that provides invoicing, expense tracking, receipt scanning, mileage logging, tax calculation, and financial reporting tools for freelancers and small businesses in Canada.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Upload malicious code or content
• Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission

5. Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you upload to Nora. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your business data, invoices, receipts, or reports. You grant us a limited license to process your data solely to provide the Service.

6. Billing & Payments

Free accounts have usage limits as described on our pricing page. Pro subscriptions are billed monthly in Canadian dollars (CAD). You may cancel at any time — your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial months.

7. Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice. We are not liable for downtime caused by factors outside our control.

8. Limitation of Liability

Nora is a business management tool, not a licensed accounting or tax advisory service. You are responsible for the accuracy of your financial records and tax filings. We are not liable for any errors in tax calculations, missed deadlines, or financial losses arising from use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
